Let’s talk all about Immortelle Beauty! Immortelle is the baby of Kathryn Nurse who sent me some product just a few days before Christmas and it was probably one of my better received gifts last year.
Immortelle is a Caribbean skincare brand that is formulated and packaged right in the West Indies – in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. It is Caribbean to the core as even the branding is done by a Caribbean branding firm!
So as I said before, a few days before Christmas I got a box that had a few products from the Esscentials line. Now, I don’t know if Kathryn kind of sensed that I am a body scrub and butter kind of girl or if everyone she gifted got the same products, but boy oh boy, she definitely hit the spot with the Exfoliating Body Polish and Rich Moisture Body Butter products. I received them in the Agave and Hibiscus, and Jasmine and Evergreen scents.
The Exfoliating Body Polish is a scrub with little grains of salt. I have always loved a body scrub whether salt or sugar to slough off all of the dead skin, sun burn flecks, what have you. The Rich Moisture Body Butter is a whipped and light lotion that is a body butter in every sense of the word. It is a lot lighter and less sticky and oily than plenty of other body butters that I have tried and a little goes a very long way. I like to exfoliate pre-shave with the body polish and then moisturize post-shave with the body butter and I honestly feel (and I think my legs certainly do look) like a hundred million bucks once I’m done.
As for the scents, the Jasmine and Evergreen is a little understated and I didn’t mind it at first until someone pointed out to me that I kind of smell like a 50+ old lady (haha, sorry Kathryn) till I couldn’t help myself but think I smelled like a 50+ old lady. Nevertheless, I am almost half way through the body polish and only a quarter way through the butter. The Agave and Hibiscus is all sorts of fruity and edible smelling. It seriously smells like I would want to eat it and I can see the times that it would come in handy to be smelling like a snack.
Would I buy myself these products? I CAN’T HELP BUT YELL YES! I emailed Kathryn and got her to add Guyana to the list of countries she ships to on the website (you’re welcome fellow Guyanese). Then I ordered the body butter and polish in Citron and Granadilla, and Pomelo and Coco Creme. I like a little self care in the form of skincare and at the price points that Immortelle Beauty has I don’t feel guilty about treating myself.
