Outfit Post: Floral Maxi Skirt

I’m uber excited to share my very first outfit post of 2018 with you. This year, I am making an effort to shoot more pieces of my own. I want to see what you guys would think of a collection if I were to pursue the idea one day.

I found this fabric at Joann’s and fell in love with it. The colors are just right up my alley, and the floral print is just perfect for spring. I am going to be honest, the concept that I had in my head did not translate into what you’re seeing. The end product is only half of what I had planned to do, but things happened and it became a long maxi wrap skirt with hot shorts below. I won’t reveal what it was supposed to be because I think I’m still going to try to make that idea happen and I want it to be a surprise. I will say, I think my failure (in not actually making what I set out to) still ended up in a pretty nice result – this is one of those “not every failure is a step in the wrong direction/mistake” types of life lessons here.

On another note, I really like this picture of myself but it makes me somewhat uncomfortable because I feel like I come off incredibly sultry – which is definitely not something that I think I am.
