Daily Makeup Routine

Today’s share is my daily makeup routine. I am a creature of habit. Mixing things up straight out of bed before I’ve had my morning cup of joe is out of the question for me. Below are the products that I use that seem to do a pretty great job for me.

make up

After washing my face of course

1. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
Straight out of the shower I have very dry skin – it feels like cardboard. I’ve tried other moisturizers which would leave my face incredibly oily by the end of the day – anyone want to fry an egg? This moisturizer does a good job of finding a happy medium between these two problems.

2. Covergirl + Olay Tone Rehab Foundation Base
Next up, to help combat the dark under eye circles, all thanks to graduate school, and the occasional red splotch. I use this a shade or two lighter.

3. Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect
After trying countless different brands of foundation this one is hands down my favorite. It matches my skin tone perfectly and is comparable to MAC’s MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid at a fraction of the price. It also does not give you that white ghostly look when you’re taking photos on your girls night out!  Also if you’re having a tough time matching your foundation colors check out this site that will find shades and brands similar to ones that have worked for you in the past.

4. NYX Retractable Eyeliner
For my waterline, this pencil is very easy to use and doesn’t cause me any irritations – another problem I must face as a contact lens wearer.

5. Maybelline Eye Studio Long Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
No joke about the long lasting factor or the drama. A little goes a very long way as this gel eyeliner is the most pigmented brand I have ever come across. The brush has been the easiest way for me to achieve a cat eye. I’ve also managed to convert both of my sisters, two friends, and an aunt to this eyeliner brand.

6. Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara
I have been wearing this specific mascara for the past 6 years. I have naturally long eyelashes so a volume mascara does the trick for me. I got my first tube for free from an aunt that is an extreme couponer and I loved what it did for my lashes. I have been stopped and asked in the past if my lashes were falsies – it is so good. I have tried other mascaras that said they were to add volume but none have compared to this one. Now I don’t even bother to try anything else – they all are a waste of money.

7. Burts Bees Lip Balm
Burt’s Bees is my favorite lip balm brand. They are the perfect relief for my chapped lips in the cold and AC. I have multiple balms – purse, car, and home. My favorites are the grapefruit and coconut flavors.

Do you use any of these cosmetic brands? Share with me your daily routine!
